Word of the Week: Purpose
For the week of September 14th, I have chosen the word PURPOSE. How is it that most people would agree that without some type of purpose, life would be chaos, ideas would go unnoticed, and dreams would never materialize? The usual response I hear is that it’s too difficult to change or see beyond the daily grind, stack of bills, traffic jams, lackluster jobs, and loveless relationships! I think it’s too difficult is to lay awake at night knowing you’re not being honest with yourself. It may even boil down to beliefs that we don’t really deserve what it is that we desire and voila, the Law of Attraction responds by sending you the current existence of what you think you deserve.
Ask yourself, “What do I do every day?” Follow that with, “What is going right… and what is not.” Lie to yourself now and forever quit your bitching! Our purpose in life is closely related to our passions, our happiness and how we can give back to others. It doesn’t have to be mind-blowing and all encompassing. It could be as profound as wanting to find the cure for some disease or as personal is being the best parent a child can ever have. Regardless, wake up from your sleep-walking-induced-state-of-numbness and look around at what you’ve attracted in your life. If you’re not satisfied, ask yourself why? What is working… what is not? Get quiet, listen for the signs, and then take inspired action!
Is purpose without action a dream or fantasy? I know the answer… but do you?
Word of the Week: Passion
For the week of August 31st, I have chosen the word PASSION. In all my learning and teaching about the Law of Attraction, I know how it responds to the very essence of the energy we transmit to the Universe. The greater the intensity of the desire in the absence of doubt, the manifestation is something you can feel in return, you can see it in your mind, you can touch it with your heart… it just becomes a part of you!
So what about passion? What if you don’t know where you passions are? Well, what if you DID? What if you can look inward and ask some key self-discovery questions to uncover a huge potential of energy that is stored up inside of you simply awaiting for you to tap into it?
I dare you to ask yourself these questions and write down your thoughts as they come into your head without worry about editing or if it even makes sense. Do it!
1. What makes you smile from the inside out?
2. What would you do for free?
3. What do you like to talk about?
4. What makes you unafraid of failure?
5. What do you give most to others?
6. What are you doing where you have the most fun?
7. Where do you lose all track of time?
Look at your answers. Perhaps some questions were harder to answer than others. What if you could incorporate more of these activities into your life… what would you do? How much more fulfilled would you be as a person? How much more productive could you be in your social circle, your family, and city, and perhaps the world? What legacy could you leave behind?
Passion… it’s an energy that comes from deep within knowing ourselves and trusting that we have a purpose and that life is meant to live with abundance, gratefulness, and love. And with this energy, you are transmitting a very positive vibe that the Law of Attraction responds with an equal level of positive energy and more reasons for you to live your life on purpose!
So, where is YOUR passion?
Word of the Week: Believe
For the week of August 24th, I chose the word “believe” because this has been a turnaround year for me, and some of my beliefs have been shaken to the core! What really constitutes our beliefs? Are they simply assumptions that we accumulate over the years? Do we ever question why we believe what we believe?
If you contemplate any of these notions, the most important aspect is to determine if your beliefs are good for you or not. Do they “serve” you in any positive manner? Sure, some of them do… while some of your beliefs may be self-defeating!
Trying to validate and release our self-defeating beliefs is a challenge and an opportunity. I sincerely believe the opportunity far outweighs the challenge because it helps define where you may be wasting time creating obstacles that only appear because YOU put them there! Life can be rich, full and zesty… why create additional burdens and hurdles to overcome? Yet many of us do, as we justify to our friends and family and OURSELVES why we are not happy about one particular situation or another.
Happiness is a choice… choose wisely! And regardless of what you believe, be accountable for what comes next!
Word of the Week: Change
The word I’m choosing for the week of August 17th is CHANGE. How many of us have said at one time or another, “Oh how I have a hard time with change,” or perhaps, “I really cannot deal with all these changes!” Somehow our paradigms are fully engaged into thinking that change is always a bad thing. I used to believe that many years ago as well. But by taking a different approach on what you initially thought might be difficult, perhaps you can see “change” in a different light… and when you do that ironically, you are starting to change your paradigm about change!
Let’s consider… change typically elicits for many people fear of the unknown. We may be embarking on something we have never done before. We are nervous, afraid perhaps unaware of “how” we were going to accomplish or move forward to something greater or different. However, how have we EVER accomplished anything new? There was always that first step, the first swing, the first try, the first of some action where we may not have executed perfectly at all… you may have actually missed the ball completely! But you tried it again and again, and for some of us, we now enjoy getting out and hitting that golf ball!
So WHY do most people immediately connect “change” with something negative? I had to think about that and came up with this aspect that might help you understand your paradigms or beliefs about change. As we grow, we are all experiencing change every single day. Some of the most memorable changes are negative such as the loss of a loved one, the death of a parent or sibling, the death of a beloved pet, the separation from a previous marriage or arrangement, the loss of a job, and so on. These changes conjure up incredible distaste, sadness, and anxiety in each of us. We somehow fail to remember the good changes, like graduation, getting a new job, finding a new mate, building a new home, and so on.
Change is just something different in our lives and there are equal examples of good and bad, but the key is you have the ability to CHOOSE how to respond to change. Embrace it for all that you can become from whatever the change is about and you may find far less resistance and pain than you had previously encountered. It’s your choice! USE IT!
Word of the Week: Desire
How fitting for the debut show on the 10th day of August, 2009, that I write about DESIRE. Oh we shall talk about this on the show and how important it is for you to define what it is that you really want in life. Personally, I’ve always had the desire to broadcast among many things, and now I am. I’m sure someone is going to think this is all about material possessions. For some of you, that might be true. Face it, we all like toys (and I love shiny black cars!), so perhaps that is a place to start. However, there are far greater things that I’d like to focus on in addition to the toys.
Let’s look at what we REALLY want… is it happiness? Peace? Security? Perhaps it all boils down to love. Oh that sounds so damn thinky-feely, but really it IS about love which is the highest vibration you can offer to the Universe. And when you vibrate “love” or “gratitude” or whatever you are feeling, by nature of the law you will attract more reasons TO love and more reasons TO be grateful. Whoa! Yet most people are complaining everyday about everything and guess what, they have MORE to complain about… everyday about everything!
Desire… what do you desire in your life? Stop, close your eyes, think for at least five minutes and really FEEL whatever it might be. How does it “feel” to have all of those credit cards paid off? That’s one example of really taking your desire and manifesting it by “feeling” the outcome. It’s more than just the monetary aspect; it’s that lighter feeling on your shoulders, that skip in your step, the tendency to smile at absolute strangers… okay that’s what I do! Perhaps this is making some sense.
Desire, one definition even says it’s about emphasizing “the strength of feeling and often implies strong intention or aim.” When was the last time you really thought about what you truly desire, your intentions? If it’s been that long, start NOW!
